– General and specific tools for creating customer value
– Be a champ
– Similar to many other books advocating multi-disciplinary teams
– Get yourself, your team and your company aligned.
The argument is that all 5 disciplines are needed in the modern world. The authors spend a chapter talking about globalization, acceleration of product cycles, the shift to more knowledge work. Great reading but nothing too original re: product development.
The bottom line: you need an exponential improvement process to keep up with an accelerating world. An exponential process is one that compounds and builds upon itself. If this isn’t clear, that’s OK – keep reading.
